HISTORIC PHILADELPHIA GARDEN BLOCK ROW HOUSE RENOVATION|PHILADELPHIA, PA

PROJECT DESCRIPTION

EXTERIOR RESTORATION AND INTERIOR RENOVATION OF HISTORIC GARDEN BLOCK

2,000 SF

Located in the Graduate Hospital neighborhood of Philadelphia, PA, this end unit historic row house sits on just one of three historic garden blocks in Philadelphia. The garden block consists of a wrought iron fenced in central garden spanning the entire block with sidewalks on either side (there is no vehicular traffic). These homes were built between 1870-80. The facade was restored to fit into the historic context of the neighborhood, including repointing and replacement of the brick, replacement of the stone lintels, period appropriate windows, and reconstruction of the cornice. The interior was completely opened up and remodeled with an open living, kitchen and dining concept on the first floor and a new, relocated metal stair. The second floor contains a bedroom with en suite bath and an additional bedroom and bathroom. The basement has been finished and contains an additional bedroom or recreational space with en suite bath.
